performed at the Sauti za Busara festival over the past few
years including Jose Chameleone, Juma Nature & Wanaume
Family TMK, Saida Karoli, Didier Awadi & Phat
4, Eric Wainaina, Bassekou Kouyate & Ngoni ba, Seckou Keita Quartet, N’faly Kouyaté, Culture
Musical Club, Chibite and many more.
The festival selection committee meets at the beginning of September to decide the artists for SzB2009. Your application can only be considered for selection if we have received from you by the end of August:
- a completed application form
- one or two recent recordings (CD, DVD, or MP3)
You can submit an application form online or by letter. Please make sure this includes a short biography (max 1000 words).
You can send material by email, BUT please do not overload our inbox! Please limit total attachments to 5MB per message.
You can also send material to our office (see address below).
For artists performing in the Festival or participating
in workshops, the Festival usually pays a modest performance fee and
covers expenses in Zanzibar, including local travel, accommodation,
food and other incidentals. Artists from outside the region will usually have to find their own travel sponsors. |
